The mine:
The local people have known Thanh Tan mineral water source for a long time, and then the French scientists started their studies in 1928.  Its hot water attaining a permanent temperature of 60-680C was exposed on top of the hills in Phong Son Commune, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien Hue Province.
The study results within 70 years by scientists inside and outside the country in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Medicine have come to a conclusion that Thanh Tan mineral water source is categorized as a very hot mineral water source containing Calcium Sulfate and Silica. By 1983, this mineral water source was recognized and permitted by the Ministry of Health to be bottled for use as a type of refreshing drink and a disease-treating agent (Decision No. 692.BYT/QD, dated August 19, 1983); the quality of Thanh Tan mineral water product was officially announced by the Ministry of Public Health according to Decision No. 624/2002/CBTC-YT and 625/2002/CBTC-YT.
